I happened to be in the Seoul area on 1/28 so I decided to visit both Marley Coffee branches. The city I was already visiting was Itaewon, so it only took a 5 minute walk from a nearby cafe to visit it again for the second time. I first visited when it opened last year. After reading about the first floor renovation on the official facebook page, I became curious and went to take a look. It was a very cold winter day, with temperatures hovering around -12 degrees Celsius. When I got there, what had been the take out station was now a store. There were all sorts of goods; t-shirts, earphones, speakers, mugs, and coffee of course. The first sign greeting me as I got off the subway was Seung Gi’s megawatt smile. If you look at the sign, there’s a 1+1 coupon for Americano. All you have to do is take a photo of it and present it at the cashier when you order and you get 2 cups for the price of one.
Then I went upstairs to get a cup of coffee and noticed that Rohan Marley had already stopped by and left his mark at this branch. An employee said he had stopped by the store on Monday. I took these photos on Wednesday, the day of the Marley Coffee Gangnam branch grand opening.
Previously, there had been only Seung Gi’s autographed mugs. The employee was really nice and tried to move Rohan Marley’s mugs for me to take photos but she realized that they were securely taped to the top of the coffee machine. So I did the best I could in getting shots of all 3 newly signed mugs.
It was getting late so I wanted to get to Gangnam since it was only 20 minutes away by subway. I went back to the subway station and on the other side of the platform was another Seung Gi sign. 🙂
