There was news on SNS and a naver blog of a Kpop boy band fan titled “News about XX’s Concert!”. In the list, 4th from the top is “2015 Lee Seung Gi Hope Concert”. She unfortunately covered some information about Seung Gi’s concert with an emoticon to point out her boy band’s concert. She also mentioned that their concert was unconfirmed. The chart said Seung Gi’s concert was scheduled for the first half of this year, but it’s already March and there is no news or confirmation about it from Hook Entertainment or Interpark tickets. I also checked dclsg and although a post about it had over 1,700 hits today, the most out of any post from today, no one except for the poster commented. She stated that “everyone was being careful with comments”, ” canceled concerts appear to be included” and “who would attend it if it were held now?”
In any case, we know that Seung Gi is busy working on his new album for its release this spring~ can’t wait! Not to mention the fact that he is also attending classes at Dongguk University. Because it is already so late and the first half of the year ends in a little over 3 months, most likely, this concert isn’t happening. I am just sharing the news with you because it is Seung Gi related. Perhaps he had planned on a concert earlier, but his packed schedule didn’t allow enough time for it to happen. Only time will tell for sure.

I know many readers have messaged me about Lee Seung Gi’s very first concert and today on twitter, I came across a link to his full album. Even though it’s not a video, I thought you would enjoy listening to his magical voice. Enjoy!

P.S. I have also uploaded a youtube video of his first concert for your enjoyment. I think both links are wonderful. ^^

This is Seung Gi’s last concert of the year. Best wishes Seung Gi ya!
According to LSGKWA, since the weather is so cold and there was a sudden drop in temperature here in Korea, beverages were delivered to Seung Gi and staff in thermos flasks with warm lunches in tupperware containers. A cake and a flower basket with different printed messages on the roses were also delivered to Seung Gi’s dressing room.
These are the various printed messages on the roses:

Seung Gi’s show in Daegu was slated to begin at 7:30PM KST. According to tweets, it was delayed. Here are some highlights from his show. The first photo is of Seung Gi at Gimpo Airport in Seoul departing for Daegu which is about 3 1/2 hours south by car if there’s no traffic. On holidays like Christmas Eve, this can double into 7-8 hours.

Here’s a tweet in Korean from a fan who attended the Daegu Hope concert. Seung Gi was throwing bundled up Heritory T-shirts wrapped in ribbon and here’s her mini fan account in her tweet:
ㅠㅠ오빠 오늘 너무 멋있구 귀엽구 진짜 최고였어여ㅠㅠ 이승기 희망콘서트 짱짱!! 그리구 오빠가 던져주신 헤리토리 티셔츠 잘받았어요ㅎㅎㅎㅎㅎ

Although I was present at the Hope Concert on both nights, Seung Gi made an unprecedented speech regarding the countries he would be visiting in his next Asia tour. He rattled off a list of so many countries, I couldn’t tweet them fast enough. I was hoping that someone would be video taping this and I’m glad they did. It’s unfortunate that it starts recording after Seung Gi said “It has been confirmed that…” regarding the list of countries he’d visit for his Asia Tour 2014.
The word I heard was “confirmed”, which is “확정”, pronounced “Hwak Jung” in Korean, ” 確定 ” in Chinese characters. Otherwise, I would’ve stayed cautious and not tweeted anything. Just watching this excerpt makes it look like he’s just thanking countries when it’s taken out of context with the beginning of his speech cut out. However, it clearly records the names of the countries he mentioned. Here’s a translation of what he said:

..Overseas, also Japan, China, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and where else did I miss? Singapore..Hong Kong, Taiwan, all the countries in Asia (he’s kidding), and I want to thank the overseas fans who came to Korea. I hope that this time with you and I left you with lasting memories. I sincerely thank you for coming. Thank you.

One lucky Airen received this water bottle that Seung Gi drank out of during his rehearsal on Sunday before the Hope Concert. Here’s her story translated into English:
On the first day of Oppa’s concert, I went and screamed at the top of my lungs “Kangchi ya!!!! Will you take off your bracelet? The one who did that to Seung Gi Oppa was me!!!ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Also, during rehearsal he asked me whether I was cold so I said I was!!! When I said I was cold, he said that “this person must be very cold!!!”ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Afterwards, while he was singing Last Word, I told him that I was 20 years old!!!! 20 years old!!!! and he giggled!!!
Also the eagerly anticipated water!!!!!!
Since he was drinking it, I asked him “can I stir it for you!!!! Do you need it stirred!!!!
When I said this, he replied “this water? You want me to give it to you?”
Since he replied this way, I stood up and earnestly asked him to give it to me!!!!!!! Give it to me!!!!
Since I acted this way, he started wondering how to pass the water bottle to me until he gave it to the security guard in front and asked him to pass it to me
After he confirmed that I received it, he laughed as he said that the water doesn’t come out very well from the straw
I told him, I will keep it as an heirloom!!!!
He replied “the quantity is too little to keep as an heirloom ㅠ.ㅠ As expected!!! He is witty♥

Sunday’s Hope Concert on December 1st had a more festive and relaxed atmosphere…I also got there with a few hours to spare unlike Saturday’s performance where I barely made it to the concert due to traffic. One thing that I wish Hook would provide for International Airens are translators.
Seung Gi spoke mostly in Korean expect for his sexy Seunglish at the beginning of the concert when the curtain rose and he said,” Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to Lee Seung Gi’s Hope Concert 2013. Are you ready? Let’s STAAARRTT!” OMG! I was melting already. Kyaaahhhh!!! ♥ ♥ ♥
I expected it to be the same as Saturday’s, but it was slightly different with different guest performers. I didn’t have such a good seat as Saturday’s so couldn’t see Seung Gi up close to take good photos. I will share some of them with you later with an updated post but I will definitely share the picture of Seung Gi’s van I captured on my cell phone before the batteries died. The rest of him coming out of the stadium and waving are captured in a fancam on my camera. I lost the CD software that lets me download it to my computer so I’m currently looking to download it off the internet. Grrrr…><
Here is the order of songs Seung Gi performed that night: slightly different

SG: Thank you to the fans who came in the cold weather…maybe because it is the 2nd day, but the atmosphere seems great. He then introduced the 2 mini stages on each side of the main stage and stated that he’d like to think of this concert stage as his own home. He then joked and said how the stage that looked like a library was expensive so he had to make the most use out of it.He then welcomed everyone to the 2013 Lee Seung Gi Hope Concert.
4. Delete ~ Seung Gi stated that he received many requests for this prior to singing it. It was the traditional version.

A Seung Gi narrated video where he says: “I’ve wanted to watch a movie in a long time…the moment movies and music meet…they turn into magic… will my songs be remembered? What if my music were turned into an OST?
6. Shadow of Separation in trot version.
The second stage with the library opens and Seung Gi sings. Meanwhile, in the background, scenes of Romeo and Juliet with Leonardo Dicaprio and Claire Danes is playing.
7. Please ~ in the background scenes from the movie Leon are playing as he sings the classic version.
Seung Gi has another conversation with the audience and asks the audience: Do you like romantic comedies? The audience says enthusiastically “YES!” He asks which ones and says that his personal favorite is Notting Hill. He says “If I could make a movie, it would be one like it”
8. Will You Marry Me in trot style~ rearranged version with piano, violin, accordian, bass. He tells the audience that the bassist was the same person who performed in Return and the audience ooohs and ahhhs.. I’m assuming he’s the one who went to the MAMA awards.
After finishing his song, he asked the audience,”How did you like Notting Hill? Is everyone here married?” The audience laughed and Seung Gi said, “I’m just kidding.”
9. Return~ rearranged version played in the mini library stage with the Gosang Zip band. It has accordian, bass, and violin. He acknowledges the members of the band and moved towards the main stage.
Then he asked the audience what we watched 2 nights ago. Everyone shouts “Nunas over Flowers!” He smiles and jokingly asks if we also watched “Insects”. He was really humble like he was on Saturday when he talked about Na PD giving him pressure about ratings being at least 10% and sincerely thanked the audience for watching his clumsiness. He then surprises the audience by saying that 2 of the Nunas from the show were present and asked if it was ok to flash a spotlight on them. I freaked out when I saw that Lee Mi Yeon and Kim Hee Ae were sitting 3 rows behind me! Daebak! I wasn’t so unhappy about my seat not being on the floor anymore after that. 🙂

Intermission: Kim Ye Rin and Swissro? were the guest stars tonight. Last night was Cross Gene and Noel. Kim Ye Rin stated that she is a big fan of Seung Gi sunbaenim after singing her opening number which she says is from her newly released album. She then sings ‘Pokerface’.
Afterwards, Swissro? came on stage and sang while Seung Gi went backstage to prepare for the second half of the concert. It was rather annoying because they didn’t seem to know when to stop talking. They spent so much time promoting their concert at Jamsil’s COEX in December which is also in Songpa-gu like the Olympic Stadium. Then one of the members stated that there were so many different types of lightsticks..I couldn’t help rolling my eyes at this one…doesn’t he know Seung Gi has a fanclub and we’re called Airens? There is only 1 official lightstick and the others are just ordinary ones? I couldn’t help but tweet “Not an Airen”. LOL
Then there was a video of Seung Gi staring at himself at the bathroom sink mirror. An Airen sitting up front managed to record some of it before security made her put her camera away. I have to admit security was tight on both days, but since I sat further in the back, I had more opportunities to take photos even though I was also told to put my camera away. Here’s the video:

8. Gone Not Around Any Longer – SISTAR’s Bora
Then came the infamous dance with SISTAR’s Bora. Oh my heart! I was about to die. The audience was screaming and I have never seen this side to Seung Gi before…he stated in Saturday’s concert that he couldn’t stay as a young boy forever so wasn’t this natural? Noooooo~~!!!! Saturday’s performance was naughtier than tonight’s for some reason, he actually touched Bora’s chest on Saturday and I nearly flipped out. I was sitting up front and saw it clearly with my own two eyes and my heart just broke into a thousand pieces. He asked the audience on Saturday afterwards how they liked the performance and if he should’ve done it with an Airen instead. When the audience screamed “YES!!” He joked around and said “Then you need to become a celebrity first”. OUCH.. Somehow, I didn’t find that joke to be so funny. Maybe it was due to me being jealous of Bora. LOL. This version contains the preview video plus the full performance of Arirang and Like a Flower.

Another video with Seung Gi narrating plays and he is sitting down on a couch reviewing all the flops he’s had in the past Hope Concerts with his weird, flashy costumes reminiscent of the 1980’s. Meanwhile, he’s wearing a Heritory ink bottle sweater that we saw during Nunas over Flowers. Here’s the video:

This leads into the next song which is a Korean traditional karaoke song:

Afterwards, a video with Seung Gi narrating in Croatia plays. He talks about Noonas over Flowers and how it’s been 9 years since his debut. He says “I’m thankful to those who remember the name Lee Seung Gi.” Meanwhile, a pigeon flies next to him and pecks at his food. Seung Gi says “Hey, that’s mine! Okay, we can share.” LOL. He continues by saying that the 1N2D hyungs were similar to him but traveling with women was different because they pay attention to details. He states “I always thought that I’m slowly starting to get to know them but I don’t know women at all.”
After the video ends, Seung Gi introduces the next song by saying “This year’s theme is to enjoy rock crazily with joy and happiness. It’s rock time!” Seung Gi appears on a wire above the stage. The next song is Korea’s most famous traditional song: Arirang.
10. Arirang Gangwondo province version ~ rearranged rock style
Here’s an introduction to a taste of Korea to better acquaint you with the history behind this song. The most famous version is the Jeongson Arirang from Gangwondo province. It’s been rearranged by so many artists, now by Lee Seung Gi. The second clip is about the Wondergirls and several Korean pop artists remaking this traditional folk song.

Seung Gi has another conversation with the audience. He says “Thank you. I really thank you for filling this stadium with passion. Thank you. I thought that last year went by in a blink of an eye. This year has passed by even quicker…I did The Gu Family Book, the Asia fan meeting, Nunas over Flowers, and also my concert. Now, compared to the past, I’m more in search for perfection so I’m very tired. In the past, if my tone was off key, I let it slide. Now, if my song’s tone falls flat even just a bit, it bothers me a great deal. I think I’m focusing more on it than in the past. Everyone has been a great source of support this year. Including for the drama. Every time we hold rehearsals for concerts, sometimes I wonder if it’s okay to give us these lunch sets which are usually reserved for boyfriends and family. Where do you make all these?

At the end of this performance, Seung Gi says “Thanks to my fans for letting me stand here. I am so thankful to be standing on this stage. Thanks to so many people working behind the scenes. I want to thank Hook Entertainment who has been like family to me, my family, and Airens.
Then I went to the back of the stadium to take a photo of Seung Gi leaving the venue. By this time, both of my batteries were dying, and we were waiting for what seemed like ages before he came out. I took a photo with my cell before the battery died and tweeted it. However, I switched to my camera to take a fancam and captured him on video coming out in his MAMA airport fashion, down to the same scarf but tied differently. He stood on the steps and waved to us before getting in his van which drove off into the night. Now if I can only find the CD software that came with my camera so I can download it onto my computer.. >< For now, I will share with you my photo along with similar video footage that other Airens captured:

I barely made it to the Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium after getting into traffic on the bus before changing over to the metro. It was 15 minutes before the show started and lots of people got off the subway at the Olympic Park Stadium….I could only smile knowing why they were running like madwomen ….Lee Seung Gi’s Concert. There were many Japanese tourists who were also running and some were telling me how this was quite an experience just getting there. LOL. Other people in the subway station were asking why people were running… there were signs in the station pointing towards the exit for the stadium…then someone said it’s for Lee Seung Gi’s concert.
This banner says “Exit to Olympic Park Station”
Breathless by the time I got to the ticket booth, since I was living in Korea, they just asked for the last 4 digits of my cell phone number and I showed them my F4 Visa (for Korean Americans) for identification purposes. I ran into the hall and several helpful ushers led me to my seat. My brain was total mush by that time and even though I recognized the songs Seung Gi sang, I was thinking in Korean (why, I don’t know…maybe all the translations I’ve been doing recently?) and couldn’t translate the titles into English. So, please forgive me those of you who followed me on twitter yesterday. Aigoo. The security in the VIP section where I was sitting was extremely tight since many Airens were there. I was annoyed that one of the girls helping out parked herself right in front of my section in plain view so I couldn’t take many photos. Argghhhh… I saw Seung Gi’s van leaving the stadium after the concert but my fingers froze up and I suddenly forgot how to take pictures… LOL. Now I understand what it’s like to see him in person. 🙂
At the concert, Seung Gi spoke in Korean, so I felt bad for the many International Airens who were there. I will provide a brief account of what he said. My next post on Sunday’s concert will be more detailed as to what he said. After finishing his first 2 songs, Seung Gi asked the audience if it was to our liking. Everyone answered “YES!” Then a series of several videos played on the screen while performing, 3 of which he narrated. He was talking about his career as a singer and it being 9 years already. In one video, he asked “Will my music be remembered?” He also had this adorable Heodang moment trying to introduce the members of his trot band which performed on the mini stage to the audience’s right with the library background. The musicians ended up introducing themselves. LOL. Afterwards, Seung Gi sat down and asked the audience if they liked romantic comedies, if so which ones? He said that he personally liked Notting Hill for Julia Robert’s refreshing charm and smile as well as Hugh Grant’s style. He said that the next song he would perform was a new one and people oohed and awed only to find out it was Will You Marry Me rearranged in a trot version. After he finished, he asked the audience what we watched on TV last night and everyone said “Noonas over Flowers!” He asked, “Did you also watch “Insects?” jokingly and talked about Na PD giving him pressure about having the ratings reach at least 10%. He was very humble about this and said that he didn’t have time to watch it personally due to rehearsals and said that it really showed an extreme Heodang side to him so he was actually glad he couldn’t get to watch it. Seung Gi then told the audience that the 락, pronounced (rahk, meaning happiness) part of his 4 themed concert actually stood for rock, which was the theme of this concert.
Then came time for intermission. A boyband called Cross Gene and Noel, a group that Seung Gi said that he used to like even as a high schooler, would be guests on the show. Many people were running out of the stadium for a bathroom/refreshment break during this time. If you remember, one of the members of Noel, a 4 man vocal group, sang for the Gu Family Book OST. I didn’t quite catch the name of the boy band and wasn’t really interested. They sang a song called ‘Amazing’ and were pretty good. On the other hand, Noel was awesome. The difference between a seasoned veteran and a rookie was readily apparent.
As Part 2 started after intermission, Seung Gi said “Now is just the beginning, are you ready for rock? The performance’s highlight is rock. Are you ready to jump nonstop??!!!”. After finishing ‘Losing My Mind’, Seung Gi had a conversation with the audience and thanked everyone for attending and having so much passion for the concert. Before his final encore, Last Word, he said “I’d like to thank the staff who has worked tirelessly behind the scenes, Hook entertainment, which has been like a family to me, and my Airens. I hope you can come to the Daegu and Busan concerts.
Tonight will hopefully be better, and I’ll be able to use my cameras to take better photos. The ones I took yesterday were from my cell phone. I’ll write a detailed description of the concert after I come back. I feel like yesterday was too rushed for me to fully enjoy it. A security man was actually pushing me to leave when I wanted to take pictures of the stages. I wanted to tell him to take his hands off of me…aigooo….sometimes I get annoyed with the lack of manners in Korea. Hope to get pics of the stage tonight and NOT have to take a taxi home like I did last night for 35,000 won after public transportation got cut off last night. On weekends, public transportation stops running early in Korea. It doesn’t quite make sense, does it? People go out and have fun during this time. >< The train bound for home stopped in Apgujeong and that’s an hour away from where I live. The buses weren’t available either so I felt really annoyed having to pay so much when I could’ve gone home for 2,000 Won. I was thinking in terms of what kinds of souvenirs I could’ve purchased at the Hope concert for my taxi fee. I guess that’s Airen thinking… rather spend that money on Seung Gi stuff. By the time I got home, it was almost 1 am so I just went to bed. Here’ a list of the songs that Seung Gi sang..
1. Because You’re my woman – techno version, very different, fast paced, Seung Gi wearing a black jacket with his tuxedo collar lined in red LED flashing lights…LOL
2. Nobody-rearranged rock style
3. Cry Out
4. Delete
5. White Lie
6. Shadow of Separation
7. Please
8. Will You Marry Me- rearranged trot style
9. Return- rearranged version shown on Entertainment Weekly
10. Because We’re Friends
11. Love Taught Me To Drink
12. Gone Not Around Any Longer with SISTAR’s Bora ~ oh my heart! This was a sexy performance. She was wearing a man’s white dress shirt and black patent leather high heels and it looked like nothing else, but she had on a pair of short black spandex pants on . >< He was touching her legs and chest..And the ending….OMG….she had her legs around him as he was sitting! >< After the performance, he said that he was no longer a young boy so shouldn’t this be natural? NOOOOOOO~!!!! ><
13. 2 Trot songs ~traditional Korean trot karaoke songs – Southbound Train, Girl of Soyang River (소양강 처녀)
14. Arirang , most famous traditional folk song of Korea…rearranged version. There are several styles of Arirang but this one is from Kangwondo province, the most famous one.
15. Like a Flower
16. Crazy for You
17. Slave
18. Losing My Mind- fast paced rock version
19. Smile Boy
20. Let’s Go on Vacation
21. Let’s Break Up
22. Last Word ~ Scenes from the official MV with Suzy Bae showing on screen.
*UPDATED: Here are some pictures I took from that day~ I had a better seat up front near Seung Gi compared to Sunday’s performance. I will post better close up pics by other Airens as well as press photos on another post.
Seunglish! “Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to 2013 Lee Seung Gi Hope Concert! Are you ready? Let’s START!!!!!” OMG!!! His English is so sexy! Kyaaaaahhhh!!!!
