Behind the Scenes of Seung Gi’s Decision to Sing For Airens in Japan After Cancellation of Valentine’s Request Stage on 2/8/13

After the cancellation was announced, Seung Gi was on his way back and saw people who looked like his Airen walking in the heavy snow.
He felt very sad so he decided to return to the venue. He insisted on singing 2 songs for the Airen who were still there in spite of the disagreement from the Japanese co-organizers.
When they(the fans) were back, Hook’s CEO asked those who wore Firstlook jackets,” Are you an Airen?” If the answer was “Yes,”she asked them to get in the car and gave them a ride (to the venue)

This is just heartwarming and it just shows you what a thoughtful and caring singer Seung Gi is. I just had to share this story with my readers.

Seung Gi:

Thank you. I am very grateful that you are with me in this place. It was the first time in 10 years since my debut that a performance was canceled. So, I wasn’t feeling very good yesterday and honestly, my heart was very heavy today. However, after seeing everyone full of energy, this is why I want to be a singer and I want to be with you for a long time. Please continue to cheer me on in this place. Also, for the next 10 years, I will work even more diligently, just like now. Let’s meet again. Thank you everyone. See you next time! Thank you very much!

Seung Gi: Thank you! To begin with, personally I felt really bad about today and feel resentful towards the snow. However, through this situation, once again, I was able to feel the closeness and affection with my fans. Although an unwanted situation has occured, my heart feels at ease because I am able to sing a few songs for everyone who has been waiting. However, I know that there are many who went home after greeting me and honestly my heart hurts knowing that about half of the audience couldn’t make it to the performance hall. Although this may become an unpleasant memory, I would like it if everyone could think of it as it turning out to be a very lively and happy one. If I could, I would really like to sing more songs for everyone but considering those who came and returned home along with those who couldn’t attend, I can’t sing many songs. After I sing this song, quite honestly I will be saying goodbye. I hope everyone will understand that this is the best I can do in this situation. So, it will be two songs. Which song should I sing for you? I received requests from everyone. Out of them, I plan to sing the top two songs for you. Even though I wanted to surprise you with the songs, I will sing this song and say goodbye. Honestly, I was very surprised that this song ranked #1 among requests. Despite the fact that it is one of my personal favorites and it hasn’t been sung very often, I wondered if many of you would like it. It’s been an honor that it was ranked #1 so I will sing it for you now. People who know this song, please sing along with me. Like the First Time. Thank you very much.
